First-time visitors to the Kumano Kodo can enjoy the popular courses “Dainichi Pass” (3.4 km, approx. 2 hours) and “Akagi Pass” (6.7 km, approx. 4 hours).
We recommend the guided walking tour with a storyteller, as it offers a deeper understanding of the Kumano Kodo's history and culture, the wildflowers blooming along the ancient path, and the life in the mountain villages. Car tours can also be arranged. (¥10,000/group)

In the center of the stream flowing through Yunomine Hot Springs, a hot water pipe gurgles with boiling water at 90 degrees Celsius. Dip an egg in and wait just over 10 minutes—hot spring eggs are ready! Let them cool slightly before eating them by the river, or take them home as souvenirs.
